Olivenhain Dam

The Olivenhain Dam has been selected as one of the five merit finalists in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement (OCEA) worldwide competition.  The California dam is the tallest and largest volume RCC gravity dam in North America.  

Related Achievements

As one of the finalists, the San Diego County Water Authority-owned dam has won the prestigious 2005 OCEA Merit Award.  The top OCEA 2005 winner will be announced in April at ASCE's Outstanding Projects and Leaders Gala in Vienna, VA.

Gannett Fleming Role

Our firm was a principal subconsultant to the prime consultant, Parsons-Harza Joint Venture, on the Olivenhain Dam and Reservoir Project. Gannett Fleming's responsibilities included RCC materials investigation, RCC mix design, RCC thermal stress modeling, external PVC liner design, fast-track scheduling and numerous other gravity dam design features.
